Two big innings for the Falcons (5 each in the 3rd & 4th innings) spelled doom for the Cyclones...the Falcons were a quality team with many tough hitters and a great defense. Good starting pitching effort by Freshman Phenom Matt Pierce for going the first 3 innings...The Cyclones put some pressure leaving 4 runners on base the first two innings...but...when the dam broke in the 3rd inning...the Cyclones were down for the count...waiting for the mandatory 5 innings to be finished....
* Another great play for catcher KC Purdum catching a fair pop up IN FRONT of the plate...
* Shortstop Drew Dawkins ran all over the field catching pop ups...he caught one by second base...first base...centerfield...and the concession stand...
* Turner Rooney hit a shot to left field...only to be robbed by a diving left fielder...
* Clark Laster laid down a beauty of a bunt...only...to be thrown out by Brooks Robinson (all you young ones...look up the name...he was a great infielder)...
