The Cyclones out hit the Falcons, out pitched the Falcons, and out fielded the Falcons, but, forgot to do one thing...win the game. A pretty good game for both teams who were playing season openers. The Cyclones had many opportunities and hit the ball hard, but, give the Falcons credit for making big plays when needed. Nice pitching performances by starter Bryce Pedro Baumann and relief specialist Chris Goose Stolte.

Nothing Gets Through Award (Defensive Gems):

* Boomer Baumann did a nice job racing down a fly foul ball.

* Brooks Brandon Smith stayed with a towering infield fly that would have brought most people to their knees.

Moon Pie Mania (Something Special):

* Chris "Ouchie" Stolte earns his first moon pie as he takes one for the team.

* Brandon Smith lays down a bunt for a hit and then tackles the first baseman as the play was made.
